Hotel Riu Cancun

Dean and his friend arrived at Hotel Riu Cancun (Blvd. Kukulcan mz 50, Punta Cancun, Zona Hotelera, 77500 Cancún, Q.R., Mexico) on 7th December 2019 and Dean sadly died in the early hours of the morning of Saturday 14th December at the hotel in unexplained unresolved circumstances. It was a Saturday and a changeover day at the hotel that he died.

Dean was a distinctive 6ft 8 ins (203 cms) tall guy with an as distinctive “Geordie” North of England accent, you will probably remember him.

Dean spent a lot of time at the pool and the sports bar area (see below).

These events may help jog your memory? During the day and early evening of Friday 13th December Dean was at the pool and pool bar with his female friend and a group of Americans laughing and joking. There was an incident when one of the Hotel’s security guards told Dean to go to his room and change. Dean was in the sports bar with a group of Americans and Canadians until approximately 2am on the 14th December and was then talking to some girls from England who were part of a Hen party made up of a dozen girls. Dean sat chatting with the English “Hen” group and an American man until the early hours of the 14th and continued talking with one of the girls and a Californian man until approximately 5am.

Were you the English “Hen” Weekend Girls, The Canadians or Americans in the Hotel Riu Sport Bar when Dean was there that morning?

Even though you may not think you saw anything you will have vital information to help piece together Dean’s last movements. Please CONTACT US. There is information that around 5.47am Dean was outside the doors to the sports bar having a cigarette and talking with a “Russian” man. There was possibly some sort of “incident” involving Dean between 5 and 7am beside a lift in the hotel with indications Dean possibly went to the bathroom at some point.

This is where everything becomes confusing with no direct information about what happened because the next thing known is that sometime between 7 and 8am Dean was seen unconscious (and confirmed to be dead) on a luggage trolley in the corridor beside the lifts surrounded by security guards. The door to the toilets was blocked off with some sort of activities by hotel staff going on possibly linked to Dean’s death. There is a void of information with no statements obtained to evidence the last sightings of Dean and how he became seen dead on a hotel luggage trolley.
